System Configuration Utility

Make sure the computer is turned off, then connect a PS/2
compatible keyboard to the computer. To enter the System
Configuration Utility, you must reboot the computer. Press
<Ctrl> + <Alt> + [S] when prompted (shown below) after
the system memory tests.

Any changes you make to the SCU are not effective until you press
<Alt>, [X], [S], then <Enter> to reboot the computer.
The menu bar contains options for adjusting the settings,
such as boot devices, COM port settings, mouse enable, and
display inversion.

Boot Devices

This setup option allows you to designate the startup device
(drive). Press <Alt> + [D] for the "Disks" menu which con-
tains options to enable the Virus Alert, determine which
drive to boot the computer from (Removable is C), and dic-
tate whether this computer has a master or a slave drive
(IDE Settings).

Press [V] to add a check mark to enable the virus
alert. Press [V] if you want to toggle the virus alert
OFF.
Press [R] to add a check mark to enable the "Remov-
able is C" option. Press [R] to remove a check mark to
disable that option. If enabled, the removable IDE
drive will be the startup device, otherwise the internal
IDE drive will the startup device.
