The Slave Drive must be enabled if the removable IDE drive is
installed in the computer.

Components

Press <Alt>, [C] for the "Components" menu to set COM
ports, parallel (LPT) ports, mouse, display, and keyboard
settings.
Press [I] to access the "IDE Settings" window and do
the following:
a. Press <Tab> twice to move the cursor into the
"Drive 1" box which sets the Master Drive.
Press [D] to add an "X" to drive-enable the
"
master drive or to remove the "X" to disable
the Drive Enabled option.
Press [P] to add an "X" to enable the Pro-
"
grammed I/O (PIO) mode or to remove the "X"
to disable the PIO mode.
b. If this computer is set up to have a Slave Drive, be
sure the Master Drive is enabled, via the "Drive 1"
box. Press <Tab> to move the cursor into the
"Drive 2" box which sets the Slave Drive.
Press [D] to add an "X" to drive-enable the
"
master drive or to remove the "X" to disable
the Drive Enabled option.
Press [P] to add an "X" to enable the PIO
"
mode or to remove the "X" to disable the PIO
mode.
Press <Enter> to save changes and exit the "IDE Set-
tings" window.
