Start-up

All options and accessories must be connected or installed,
and the power supply connected to the computer. It will
start up ("boot") to a factory-configured operating system
when you move the On/Off switch to the ON position. If the
computer does not, it may be necessary to install operating
system or application software.

Installing Software

External Drives

An external floppy drive and an external CD-ROM drive are
offered as optional accessories for the Intermec 5055 Data
Collection PC. The correct device drivers for these factory-
offered accessories are already loaded on your computer to
simply software installation and upgrades.

Downloading from a Network

Where individual computers ("clients") are connected to a
network ("server") it is often more efficient to download ap-
plication software directly from the server to each client.
