102 Electrical System
The control box is centrally mounted in the cab. It includes push
buttons, toggle switches, warning lamps, and a screen. Some units
also have auxiliary controls located on the curb side of the truck,
under the seat.
The IFM multiplex electronic controller makes the truck more
reliable by reducing the number of wires and components. Electrical
maintenance is different from relay logic. The use of this electronic
controller enables mechanics to perform troubleshooting, which
facilitates the debugging process.
Labrie Enviroquip Group offers training on this technology. To
know more about electronic controllers and training schedule, please
call LabriePlus.
Proximity switches control the packer operation as well as tailgate
alarms, and provide the means for safety lockouts.
Limit switches are used where there is "large" movement between
components and the limited range of the proximity switch is not
permitted.
Harnesses connect all electrical components. They are generic and
therefore may contain wires and connectors that are not used. Make
sure unused connectors are always protected by a cap in order to
avoid electrical failure.
