Replacing the Ink Dabber

The felt ink dabber and holder are located near the rear of the unit and behind
the tower. They are identified by a blue tab that extends above the top of the
unit. Replace the dabber (Unisys Direct number 75-0270-902) or the dabber
and holder (Unisys Direct number 75-2097-907) when the dabber becomes
blackened with ink. Generally, you do not need to replace the dabber every
time the ink cartridge is replaced. However, you should check the condition of
the dabber at that time.
Replacing only the dabber felt can be messy, but can offer potential cost
savings. Dabbers are available as preinstalled in holders for convenient
replacement.
Replace the dabber or dabber and holder as follows:
1. Pull up to remove the holder with the felt dabber from the unit as shown
in Figure 5-25.
2. If you choose to replace only the dabber, remove it from the holder and
insert a new dabber in its place.
3. Insert the new dabber in its holder back into position.
