Typical Framing Dims. – Full Bay Configuration
Recessing the Back Edge of the Fireplace (Optional)
Installers may wish to recess the back of the fireplace to allow for a more shallow installation, placing
the side glass next to the side wall(s). If you decide to recess the back of the fireplace, make sure to
accommodate the framing and facing dimensions. The back edge of the glass extends to a location
5.75" (147mm) from the back of the fireplace (see dimensions page for details). Framing for this type
of installation may protrude forward from the back wall of the opening a maximum of 5.25" (134mm)
when using ½" (13mm) drywall. Consult the dimensions page and plan your installation prior to
framing the opening.
