Part 2. Troubleshooting
2.13. "E9" – Expansion valve abnormality
Trigger
1. No continuity of expansion valve.
2. Minimum expansion valve opening and
suction superheat < 4 K and discharge
superheat < 5 K.
Possible cause
No common power supply after power on.
Faulty expansion valve.
Faulty thermistor R2T, R3T, R4T / refriger-
ant/brine PCB A9P.
Faulty high pressure sensor / refriger-
ant/brine PCB A9P.
Wet operation.
External factor (e.g. electrical noise)
(cause when error is reset after power
reset, and error happens again after
awhile).
2.14. "F3" – Discharge pipe temperature control
Trigger
1. Discharge temperature > 110°C for 15
minutes.
2. Discharge temperature > 125°C.
Possible cause
Refrigerant shortage (incorrect charge /
leakage).
Faulty thermistor R2T / refrigerant/brine
PCB A9P.
Faulty compressor.
Faulty expansion valve.

Version 2.0
Ground source heat pump
Effect
Unit will stop operating.
Check
Check power supply.
Check expansion valve (see
Check thermistors R2T, R3T, R4T (see
page
58).
Check high pressure sensor (see
page
70).
Check for wet operation. (Wet operation
can be detected by checking the suction
superheat. If the suction superheat is 0°C
then liquid refrigerant is returning to the
compressor.)
Check for source which could cause elec-
trical interference.
Effect
Unit will stop operating.
Check
Check for refrigerant shortage.
Perform leak test.
Check thermistor R2T (see
page
Check compressor (see

Check expansion valve (see
2. Error code based troubleshooting
Reset
Via user interface (power reset might be
necessary in case no common power sup-
ply was cause).
Corrective action
page
72).
Replace expansion valve (see
page
135).
Replace thermistors R2T, R3T, R4T (see
page
143) or PCB A9P (see
Replace the high pressure sensor (see
page
140) or PCB A9P (see
In case wet operation was detected con-
firm the cause:
Refrigerant overcharge.
Restricted brine flow.
Faulty expansion valve.
Reset
Via user interface -> only possible when
below 95°C.
Corrective action
Repair the leak and charge the correct
amount of refrigerant (1.8 kg).
58).
Replace thermistor R2T (see
PCB A9P (see
69).
Replace compressor and also investigate
reason of breakdown.
Check expansion valve operation (liquid
back issue).
Check refrigerant shortage (overheated
issue) -> check for leak.
