To select a camera channel
To enable or disable the analysis feature
Duration of the alarm sound:
Disable, 10 s, 20 s, 40 s, 60 s
Sensitivity of the analysis feature (1 – 4);
the higher the value, the more sensitive the
analysis feature
Location of the camera: indoor or outdoor

to define up to 4 detection fields.
1. Click the left mouse button to define the
four corners of a field. Make sure that there
is no notch in the field; otherwise, an error
message will be shown.
2. To activate the field: In the menu to the left
of the image, set the line "Rule Switch" to
"Enable".
3. In the line "Rule Type", define the motion
direction that is to trigger an action:
A->B = motion going into the field
B->A = motion going out of the field
A<->B = motion into both directions
4. To change a field, click the red square to the
left of the field number. Keep the left mouse
button pressed and move the corners of
the field. To move the entire field, place the
mouse pointer into the field and keep the
left mouse button pressed.
5. To save the settings, click "Save".
6. To remove all fields, click "Remove All"; to
remove the field selected, click "Remove".
7. To go back to the menu, click the right
mouse button in the camera image.
Duration of a recording that has been started
by the analysis feature
When an event is detected by the analysis
feature, the alarm relay (output ALARM or OUT,
chapter 6.4) will respond for the time defined
When this field has been tick-marked:
The alarm relay will respond when an event is
detected by the analysis feature
A detected event will be indicated by the icon

in the live image; the icon will appear in a red
field when recording has been started by the
detected event.
When an event is detected, an e-mail will be
automatically sent provided that the required
specifications have been made in the menu
"Parameter", submenu "Network", section
"Email".
The corresponding channel will be displayed in
the full-screen mode.

4) Depending on the analysis method selected, you can
either select fields (methods PID, SOD, PD and FD) or lines
( methods LCD and CC) when you click
IMPORTANT: For an analysis with clear results, make sure
that
– the fields or lines are not too close to the edges of the

– the fields are not too small and the lines are not too short
– the fields or lines are not masked (Parameter  Display
 Privacy Zone)
5) To show a list of events, click the icon
corner of the screen.
7.16 Saving and loading
different configurations
It is possible to save different recorder configurations for dif-
ferent users or fields of applications (e. g. to a USB flash drive)
and to load them when required.
1) Connect an external storage device (flash drive/hard disk)
to one of the two USB ports of the recorder.
2) Configure the recorder as desired.
3) Call up the menu "Advanced"; the submenu "Maintain"
will appear:

4) Click "Save Settings". The window "Save Settings" will ap-
pear. Make the settings for saving and click "OK". The name
"NVR_Settings" will be assigned to the configuration file.
5) If you have more than one configuration, save the config-
urations to different folders to make sure that a recorder
configuration already saved will not be overwritten.
6) To load a configuration, click "Load Settings".
