DESIGNING THE DISPLAY LAYOUT

The VidyoPanorama Display Layout tab enables you to design the layout of the displays. You should
carefully read this section before you begin designing your layout.

Stream Types

You can determine what will appear on which displays in your VidyoPanorama room by selecting from these
stream types:
Single Stream: A Single Stream display shows video from one site at a time.
Continuous Presence (CP): A Continuous Presence display shows video from more than one site at a
time. The video stream from each site is shown in a tile. You can select how many tiles you want to
show per display. For example, if you select two tiles, you can show video from two different sites
on that one CP display. The default is four tiles and the maximum number of tiles is unlimited,
although Vidyo recommends eight tiles as the maximum.
Self-View: A Self-View display shows the video from the VidyoPanorama camera at your local site.
Content: A Content display shows any content shared from the local or remote sites.
You can combine the stream types in various ways by giving them a priority order. For example, for one
display, you might select its first priority as Content, its second priority as Single Stream, and its third
priority as Self-View. During a conference, this display would show content whenever content was being
shared. However, if no content was being shared, it would show video from one site. If there were not
enough sites in the conference to fill that display, then it would show the video from the local site.
Information about how to set the priority order is included later in this section.

Layout Guidelines

When designing the layout, follow these guidelines:
Try to always fill the displays with content or video and to avoid having any blank displays. This
should be your first goal.
Place content in the center display(s).
Place the main video at a height where it appears that you are looking into the camera. That is,
don't place it too high or too low or too far off from the center of the room.
Place the CP display(s) where your eye is least interested in looking. That is, place the CP display(s)
farther to the left or right in the room.
You can have as many CPs as the number of displays minus one.
You can have only one Self-View display.
