Initializing USB Memory
(Format External Memory)
You can initialize (format) USB memory that's connected to the
VIMA. If you want to erase the entire contents of USB memory
and return it to the condition in which you purchased it,
execute the following procedure.
1.
Connect your USB memory to the external
memory connector (p. 104).
2.
Access the main screen.
If the main screen is not shown, press the [EXIT] button
several times to access the main screen.

3.
In the main screen, touch <Menu>.
The menu screen appears.

4.
Touch <Format External Memory>.

If you touch <Cancel>, you will return to the previous
screen without initializing.
5.
Touch <OK>.
Initialization will begin.
The entire contents of USB memory will be erased.
* Never turn off the power while the screen indicates
<Initializing...>. Doing so will destroy the USB
memory, rendering it unusable.
Don't remove the USB memory until formatting is
NOTE
completed.
If the screen indicates "Error," refer to the "Error
NOTE
Messages" (p. 145).
This operation will not initialize any settings other
NOTE
than the contents of USB memory. If you want to
return settings other than the contents of USB memory
to the factory-set state, please execute Factory Reset
(p. 130) and Initializing User Memory (p. 131).
