Continuous Playback (Play Mode)

Here you can specify how songs will play back.
Normally, when you select and play back a song, playback
will stop when the selected song ends. The VIMA also lets you
play songs continuously.
Setting
Only the selected song will play back.
One Song When the selected song plays to its end,
playback will automatically stop.
Starting with the selected song, all songs in the
selected location (p. 34) will play back in
All Song order. When the last song has ended,
playback will resume from the first song in that
location.
The songs in the selected location will be
Random
played in random order.
When you press the [
NOTE
Mode" setting will automatically be set to "One
Song."
You can't record while the "Player" setting screen is
NOTE
displayed.

Changing the Time Signature (Beat)

This specifies the time signature of the song when recording
your own performance.
2/2, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/4, 3/8, 6/8, 9/8, 12/8

If the Melody Guide function (p. 61, p. 95) fails to lower the
volume of the song's melody, or if the Melody Mute function
(p. 60, p. 94) fails to mute the melody of the song, you should
try changing this setting.
Settings (channel)
1–16
Most commercially available SMF music files consists of
sixteen channels (parts).
Each channel contains a separate performance; for
example, channel 1 might contain strings and channel 2
bass, with the drums on channel 10. The song data
consists of these sixteen channels of performances, played
back simultaneously.

Normally, when you play back Roland SMF music files (p.
151), the melody is assigned to channel 4.
However, some commercially available SMF music files
assigns the melody channel to a different channel. In such
cases, you'll need to change this setting to the channel
that is used by your music files.
