P2 (Intensity of F2 in dB SPL) = 55
Number of Passing Frequencies for Overall Test "Pass" = 3
Additionally, the user of a DP Screener can select the DP Custom
test protocol which is a fixed protocol (not customizable). The
settings for testing in the DP Custom protocol are as follows:
Number of Frequencies Tested = 4
Averaging Time = 2
Frequency Range = 2 kHz to 5 kHz
P1 (Intensity of f1 in dB SPL) = 65
P2 (Intensity of f2 in dB SPL) = 55
Pass SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) = 6 dB
Number of Passing Frequencies for Overall Test "Pass" = 3
Note: DP Custom is a fixed test protocol with a total test time of
approximately eight seconds (2-second averaging time at each of
four test frequencies). The default DP protocol is a 16 second test
(4-second averaging time at each of four test frequencies). The
shorter test time of the DP Custom protocol offers an advantage
when testing young children or uncooperative subjects who will tend
to move considerably during the test. The longer averaging time of
the default DP protocol offers an advantage when testing in noisy
environments. The tester can select the appropriate test protocol
based on the subject being tested and the test environment.
The settings for testing in the default TE protocol are as follows:
Number of Frequencies Tested = 6
Averaging Time = 64
Seconds Frequency Range = 1.5 kHz to 4 kHz
Pass SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) = 4 dB
Click Presentation Level = 83 dB SPL Peak Equivalent
Number of Passing Frequencies for Overall Test "Pass" = 3
To Begin Testing
To begin testing, place an eartip as far down as possible on
the probe tip, turn on the OtoRead instrument by pressing the
down button and select either the LEFT or RIGHT arrow key to
indicate which ear will be tested. After the test ear is selected,
Display # 3 will be shown.
