4. Install the original shim(s) 6 and thrust
bearing 7 with the propeller shaft 2 into
the propeller shaft housing.
NOTE:
9 Be sure to select the propeller shaft shim(s)
if replacing the propeller shaft, propeller
shaft housing, thrust bearing or taper roller
bearing.
9 To select the shim(s), see "Shimming
(counter rotation model)."
5. Install a new taper roller bearing 8 into
the propeller shaft housing using a press.

6. Install the propeller shaft housing assem-
bly in the reverse direction into the lower
case.
NOTE:
Use M8 bolt 0 for mount the propeller hous-
ing.
7. Install the claw washer q and ring nut w,
and then tighten the ring nut to the spec-
ified torque.
