3 Service Policy and Internet & Extranet information
3.1

Praesideo Service Policy

All Praesideo type numbers have a manufacturer warranty of 3 years.
Bosch ST guarantees a service period of at least 5 years after the product reaches its commercial End of Life.
In this service period, spare parts or the possibility to have each unit repaired is available.
If the End of Service period is reached or a situation occurs that the service lifetime should be extended, then
the installer or local service provider should select spare parts (before End of life) or replacement units (before
End of service). Note that previous mentioned extended service period is not a manufacturer responsibility.
Praesideo units can be repaired centrally via Solectron (previous MDB) or with the spare parts as mentioned
in this document.
The spare parts mentioned in this document are available at SLB.
The equipment should only be serviced by Bosch trained and qualified people.

3.2

Repair Policy

In case of a defect unit, contact Solectron via the regular RMA procedure or repair the unit according the
repair instructions in this document and with the available spare parts.
Due to the throughput time of repairs via Solectron, it's advisable to arrange a local solution with the service
partners. For example: keep an extra Network controller or Power amplifier at the supplier or installer.
And if the application requires it (emergency or local fire department demands), keep an extra Network
controller and Power amplifier on site.
Important: In case of a defective unit always mention the fault of the unit on the RMA. In the
diagnose page (see also chapter 9) you will find a fault description of that unit which you can write
down.
3.3

Service Manual users

The Service manual is intended for those who need more information on solving a problem in a Praesideo
system than the user manual offers. Regular users are Bosch service partners and Praesideo service providers.
