C.1 Carrier Control and Alarms
If a TX major alarm occurs, modulator output is muted automatically. This automatic muting
prevents the modulator from using an unknown spectrum and possibly disturbing adjacent
carriers.
To override an automatic muting of the output, mask the alarm that is causing the fault. This mask
lets the transmission continue, even if the fault occurs.
C.2 Carrier States and Changes to Programming
The carrier states affect how the modulator output restarts after you change the modulator output
and satellite footprint.
NOTE
The interface (front panel or terminal) also affects how the modulator output restarts
after this type of change is made.
The table compares the effects of using the interfaces and carrier states.
