5.2.5 Securing Your Information
There are no known problems with passing the netpad through airport security
machines and other X-rays.
There are several things that you can do to secure your files against other hazards.
You can:
•
Make your files "read-only". For more information see Chapter 6: "Files,
Folders, and Programs".
•
Back up your files regularly (see "Backing Up To Multimedia Cards" on
page 55) in case they get lost or are deleted accidentally.
•
Set passwords to protect information from prying eyes. You can set a pass-
word for the netpad as a whole (as explained earlier) or for individual files.
For more information see Chapter 6: "Files, Folders, and Programs".
•
Enter contact information so that your netpad can be returned to you if you
lose it. See "Entering Owner Information" on page 51.
Note: It is not possible for anyone to copy information from or to your machine
using Infrared, unless they are able to access its Infrared 'Send' and
'Receive' commands.
