IBM MQSeries Everyplace
IBM MQSeries Everyplace extends the IT infrastructure to include dependable
and secure communications with mobile workers into what was a failure-prone
environment, allowing them to access corporate data and applications on any of the
35 platforms in an MQSeries network. It connects laptops, PDAs and phones, and
unattended devices such as servers, sensors and probes. It includes rich extensible
security options and can easily work through firewalls. MQSeries Everyplace
allows mobile workers do their work anyplace, anytime, anywhere—safe in the
knowledge that their message will get through.
Impatica
Impatica technology enables Microsoft PowerPoint™ presentations to be viewed
on the EPOC OS by quickly converting the presentation into a Java applet that can
be viewed with the mobile computer's web browser. The 'impaticised' presentation
can either be stored and accessed locally on the device, or run over the Internet.
Impatica enables interactive rich media content on the netpad.
Informix
A high performance, function-rich SQL database for Java applications along with
synchronization technology that allows data to be shared with enterprise database
servers (Informix, DB2, Oracle etc.). Informix Cloudscape is a platform that com-
prises three major elements:

Cloudscape - A small footprint, 100% Pure Java™, object-relational data-
base management system.
•
Cloudsync - An innovative way to maintain agreement between central
applications and distributed applications that may only be occasionally con-
nected to the Internet.
•
Cloudconnector - A server framework that supports connection pooling,
remote JDBC, HTTP, and HTTPS connections from an application to a
Cloudscape database.
