Activate the engineering tool and create a project.

Connecting a Personal Computer

Connect a personal computer where an engineering tool has been installed to the remote head module.
Install a USB driver to use a USB cable for the first time. ( GX Works3 Operating Manual)
Procedure
Connect a personal computer directly to the remote head module by following the procedure below.
1.
Select one of the following types from "Type" depending on the
system configuration of the remote head module, and then click
the [OK] button.
• RJ72GF15-T2: When the redundant remote head module system is not used
• RJ72GF15-T2 (SR): When the redundant remote head module system is used (single
line)
• RJ72GF15-T2 (LR): When the redundant remote head module system is used
(redundant line)

Connect a personal computer and the remote head module using
a USB cable.
2.
Select [Online]  [Current Connection Destination] on the menu
bar of the engineering tool.
3.
Click the [CPU Module Direct Coupled Setting] button on the
"Specify Connection Destination Connection" window.
4.
Click the [Connection Test] button, and check if the personal
computer is connected to the remote head module.
