ENERGY LEVELS AND PATIENT IMPEDANCE
The Cardiac Science Biphasic Truncated Exponential (BTE) waveform utilizes variable energy. The actual
energy delivered will vary with the patient's impedance and the device will deliver a shock when impedance
is between 25-180 Ohms. Energy will be delivered at three different levels referred to as ultra-low variable
energy, low variable energy, and high variable energy as shown in the above waveform tables.
