Exposure Modes in Detail

1. Internally Programmable Line rate and Internally Programmable Exposure Time (Default)
Line rate is the dominant factor w hen adjusting the line rate or exposure time. When setting the line rate
exposure time w ill decrease, if necessary, to accommodate the new line rate. When adjusting the
exposure time the range is limited by the line rate.
:
Note
The camera w ill not set line periods shorter than the readout period.
GenI Cam parameters to set:
I / O Controls > Trigger M ode > Off
2. External Line Rate, Programmable Exposure Time
In this mode, the line rate is set externally w ith the falling edge of EXSYN C generating the rising edge of
a programmable exposure time.
GenI Cam parameters to set:
I / O Controls > Trigger M ode > On
Sensor Control > Exposure M ode > Timed
3. External Line Rate and External Exposure Time (Trigger Width)
In this mode, EXSYN C sets both the line period and the exposure time. The rising edge of EXSYN C marks
the beginning of the exposure and the falling edge initiates readout. N ote:
GenI Cam parameters to set:
I / O Controls > Trigger M ode > On
Sensor Control > Exposure M ode > Trigger Width
Warning! When running external line rate and external exposure time, the line rate must not exceed 1 /
(exposure time + 1, 000 ns). Under these conditions the exposure time w ill become indeterminate and
result in image artefacts. This is not the case w hen running internal exposure control.
