Plumbed Water Line (CVA 4066 Only)

The CVA 4066 model is designed for operation with a permanent cold tap water
connection, but can be converted from water line to water tank use by programming
the plumbed water line connection to On or Off. When the appliance is set to On, it
uses the cold-water line. Additionally, the water tank for the CVA 4066 contains two
reed switches, one for a low water level and one for a high water level (see Items 13
and 15 in Figure D-4). The water tank is automatically filled when the low water level
reed switch sends a signal to the electronic for additional water. When the appliance is
set to Off, the water tank is used and must be filled manually with fresh tap water.
Refer to Section 010-2.2 or the operating manual for further installation information for
the CVA 4066 coffee system.

Safety Concept for Water Intake

2 water inlet valves (1Y63, 2Y63):
These solenoids are connected in series in the water path. One solenoid is controlled
by the power electronic and one by the control/display electronic.
Power electronic (N4), control/display electronic (N5):
If one electronic is defective, the second solenoid will be closed by the other electronic.
Water container monitoring with 2 float switches (S12/1, S12/3):
The bottom float switch monitors the minimum level in the water container. The top
float switch switches off the water inlet valves.
Water intake duration:
The water intake time is monitored. If the top float switch has not switched after 2
minutes, the water inlet valves are closed.
Drip tray/appliance base plate:
If the presence of water is registered by the drip tray contacts, the water inlet valves
are closed.

filter is not accessible by the customer.
1. Remove the appliance from its cabinet. See Section 010-4.1.
2. Unscrew the brass elbow from the rear of the coffee system (see arrow, Figure 080-1).
