CADMIUM,

Add 20 mL of
50% Sodium
Hydroxide Solution
and the a 0.1-g scoop
of potassium cyanide
to the funnel. Shake
vigorously for 15
seconds. Remove the
stopper and let stand
for one minute.
Note: Spilled reagent
will affect test accuracy
and is hazardous to skin
and other materials.

Add 30 mL of
DithiVer Solution to
the 500-mL
separatory funnel.
Stopper, invert, and
open the stopcock
slowly to vent. Close
the stopcock and
shake the funnel once
or twice; vent again.
Close the stopcock
and shake the funnel
vigorously for 60
seconds.
