Notes on use
When using the Hitachi storage system, be sure to read this guide and understand the operating
procedures and instructions described herein thoroughly before staring your operation.
The array complies with FDA radiation performance standard 21 CFR subchapter J.
EMI regulation
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device,
pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection
against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This
equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference in which case the user will
be required to correct the interference at his own expense. Testing was done with shielded cables.
Therefore, in order to comply with the FCC regulations, you must use shielded cables with your
installation.
The electromagnetic interference (EMI) test was done in the following configuration.
If trouble occurs in another configuration, a user might be requested to take appropriate preventative
measures:
RKU + CBSS + dense intermix drive tray + flash module drive tray + 2 small form factor drive
trays + 1 large form factor drive tray.
RKU + CBSL + 1 small form factor drive tray +1 large form factor drive.
This product must not be used in residential areas.
This is a class A product. In a domestic environment this product can cause radio interference in
which case the user can be required to take adequate measures.

Equipment with NEBS specifications

In the Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform midrange family,, the VSP G200
equipment meets the Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS)
specifications.
The equipment with the NEBS specifications is suitable for use in
Telecommunications Facilities. The equipment with the NEBS specifications is
suitable for use in the Common Bonding Network (CBN).
