Chapter 1: Overview The Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G700 is a versatile modular, rack-mountable hybrid array storage system equipped with drive boxes, supporting SAS drives, flash drives, and TLC-NAND flash module drives, scaled for various storage capacity configurations. The storage systems provide high performance operations by using dual controllers with high-speed processors, dual in-line cache memory modules (DIMMs), cache flash memory (CFM), battery, fans and ports to connect iSCSI and Fibre Channel I/O modules.
Page 14
Flash drive tray (DBF): Up to 12 flash module drives (FMD) can be installed (2U size) ■ Supports system environments with mixed operating systems such as UNIX, Linux, ■ Windows, and VMware Chapter 1: Overview Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G700 Hardware Reference Guide...
Each controller includes the following internal components such as a processor, dual in- line cache memory modules (DIMMs), cache flash memory (CFM), battery, and fans. The controller has an Ethernet connection for out-of-band management using Hitachi Device Manager - Storage Navigator. If the data path through one controller fails, all drives remain available to data hosts using a redundant data path through the other controller.
