Cylinder
Inspection
Remove
the carbon
deposits
from the exhaust
port
area.
CAUTION
I
·
Do not damage
the
cylinder
bore.
Inspect the
top of
the
cylinder for warpage.
Use a straight edge and feeler gauge
to
check
the head gasket
surface on
the
cylinder for warpage.
If
warpage is beyond the service limit, correct or replace as
necessary.
Service Limit:
0.05
mm

Check
that the cylinder
studs are tight.
If
any are loose, remove them, dean
th
eir
threads
with contact
cleaner, then
reinstall them
using Honda Anaerobic Thread
Lock
or
equivalent.
Tighten the studs to
the
specified torque.
Torque:
12
N·m (1.2 kg -m
,
9 ft-Ib)
If
necessary, remove the bolts and
water
hose joint
from
the
cylinder.
Discard the O-ring and install a new one.
Install the water hose joint in the reverse order of removal.
Measure the bore diameter at four positions, top, middle
(Al.
middle (B! and the
bottom.
With
the
exception of
the bottom,
measure both "X" and
"
Y
"
axis at
each position. Measure only the" X" axis of the
bott
om
position.
Top:
