Brake System
In
stallation
Coat
a
new O-ring with clean brake fluid and install it in the
reservoir
hose
joint cup
.
Connect the reservoir hose
to
the master
cylinder
with
a new
snap ring
.
Snap
ring
pliers

Equivalent
commercially
available
in
U.S.
A
.
Attach the master
cylinder
to the frame.
Connect the
rear
brake pedal to the master cylinder push rod
and install the brake pedal (page
13-1
4).
Apply
Honda
Anaerobic Thread Lock or equivalent to
the rear
master cylinder mounting
bolt
threads.
Ins1all
end tighten the rear
master
cylinder mounting bolts
to
the specified torque
.
Torque
:

Connect the
rear
brake hose eyelet joint with the hose bolt and
two new sealing
washers.
CAUTION
Align the
eyelet
joint with the notch
in
the master
cylinder
first. then
tighten the
bolt.
After installing the brake
hose
to the master
cylinder,
make sure it does not
interfere with the
movement of the
shock
absorber.
Tighten
the
brake
oil bolt to the specified torque.
Torque:

Fill
the brake system with DOT

fluid
from
a sealed con

tainer and bleed the
system
of air (page 13-3\.
Front Brake Caliper
Removal
CAUTION
A
void
spilling fluid
on
painted
,
plasti
c
or
rubber
parts.
Place a
shop
towel
over
these
parts whenever the
system
is serviced
_
Drain the front brake fluid from the hydraulic system
.
Remove the brake pads
(page
13-51.
Place a clean
con
t
ainer under the caliper and remove the brake
hose bolt, sealing washer and eyelet joint
from
the caliper.
Remove the brake caliper bracket bolt. then
remove
the
brake
caliper and bracket as an assembly.
