Transmission Oil
Oil Level Check
Place the motorcycle in an upright and level
position.
Remove the
oil
filler cap and check bolt/sealing washer.
If the oil level is correct, a small amount oil will run from
the
hole.
II the oil does
not flow
out. add
the recommended
oil slowly
through
the
oil filler hole until
the
oil
start
s
t
o
f
low out of the
check hole.
Stop
adding oil when it begins
to
flow out.
Install the oil check bolt
.
Torque
:
10 N·m
(1
.0 kg·m
.
7 ft·lb)
Alter checking the oil level, install
the
oil
filler
cap and be sure
that
the cap and oil
check
bol
l
are
tightened
secu rely.
Oi
l
Change
NOTE
Transmission
oil should be changed at least every 3
races
or
7.5
hours of
running
to
ensure
consistent
performance
and maximum service life of both transmission
and
clutch
components
.
Warm<up the engine before draining
the
oil
.
This
ensures complete and
rapid
draining.
If the
engine
must be running to do
some work.
make
sure
the ar8a Is well ventilated
.
Never
run the
engine
in
an
enclosed area.
The exhaust contain
s
poisonous
carbon monoxide gas that
can
cause
loss of
consciousness
and may lead to death
.
Remove
the oil
fill
er cap
from the right
crankcase cover.
Place an oil
drain pan
under the engine
t
o
catch
t
he oil, then
remove
the
drain bolt.
CAUTION
Used engine
oil
may
cause
skin
cancer
if repeatedly left
in
contact
with the skin fo
r
prolonged periods
.
Although
this
is
unlikely unless you handle used oil or daily
basis.
it is
still advisable
to thoroughly wash
your
hands wi
t
h
soap
and
water
as
soon
as
possible
after
handing used
oiL
