Performing a Softload

Before you perform a softload, you should verify that the Data Collection
Manager (DCM) Collection Agent is working. The softload process does not start
until the Collection Agent completes the collection process.
Caution
To ensure a successful softload, do not reboot the timeclock while it is in Softload
Mode.
To perform a softload, do the following:
1. Access the DCM Device Manager application.
2. Select Tools > Advanced Device Manager.
3. Select a device or device group in the left pane of the Advanced Device
Manager window.
4. Select Device > Load Firmware.
5. In the Load Firmware Name dialog box, do the following:
a. In the File of types textbox, select .krm.
b. Browse to select the appropriate .krm file.
c. Click Open.
You can view the status of the softload process in the Request Status window in
Advanced Device Manager. When the softload process is complete, you need to
initialize your timeclock. For more information about initializing a timeclock, see
the Data Collection Manager System Administrator's Guide.
