Changing alkaline batteries

WARNING
!
Explosion hazard!
Do not change the batteries or Alkaline Battery Pack
underground or in explosion-hazard areas.
Do not throw used batteries into fire or try to open them
by force.
Switch off the instrument.
1. Loosen the two screws on the
bottom of the instrument.
Remove the alkaline power
pack from the instrument.
Loosen the four screws on
the battery compartment and
open the cover.
Replace the exhausted
batteries with new ones.
Observe the polarity when inserting the new batteries!
Assemble the alkaline power pack in the reverse order and insert
it in the Dräger X-am 7000.
Only the following batteries (C-Size, round cell, LR14) can be used
with the alkaline power pack:
Energizer, E93
or
Duracell Plus, MN140C
The use of other batteries will invalidate the explosion-protection
approval!

After the batteries have been replaced:
The settings and data are
stored when the battery is
replaced. The sensors are still
supplied with power.
If the power pack is
disconnected from the
instrument for a long period,
the sensors warm up when the
power pack is connected again.

Carrying out the fresh air calibration

for improved measuring accuracy
To improve the zero point accuracy, you can carry out a fresh air
calibration/zero point adjustment.
Calibrate the instrument in fresh air which is free of the gases to
be measured and gases which could interfere with the calibration.

Do not calibrate the instrument indoors (in a workshop, office, etc.)

display – are included in the fresh air calibration. Faulty sensors
and sensors which have not yet warmed up are skipped.
Fresh air calibration adjusts the zero points of all sensors (except the
sensors for oxygen and CO
For the oxygen sensor only, the sensitivity is set to 20.9 Vol.-% O
With the instrument switched on, briefly press the » ▼ « key.
In the "Quick menu" which then appears, use the » ▼ « key to
select "Fresh air cal".
The scope of the "Quick menu" can be selected and may vary
depending country (see the "Dräger X-am 7000 Technical Manual".
