5. Software Control - Lightware Device Controller
5.5.2. Frame Detector
The ports can show detailed information about the signal like full size
and active video resolution. This feature is a good troubleshooter if
compatibility problems occur during system installation. To access
this function, open the port properties window and click on Frame
detector button.

Lightware's Frame Detector function works like a signal analyzer and
makes possible to determine the exact video format that is present
on the port, thus helps to identify many problems. E.g. actual timing
parameters may differ from the expected and this may cause some
displays to drop the picture.
Frame Detector measures detailed timings on the video signals just
like a built-in oscilloscope, but it is much more easy to use. Actual
display area shows the active video size (light grey). Dark grey area
of the full frame is the blanking interval which can contain the info
frames and embedded audio data for HDMI signals. Shown values are
measured actually on the signal and not retrieved only from the HDMI
info frames.

5.5.3. No Sync Screen (Test Pattern)
No sync screen options in the port properties window of TPS output
The No sync screen feature generates an image which can be
displayed when there is no incoming signal on the port. The following
settings can be set for the Test Pattern function:
Mode
On: the video output port always transmits the test pattern.
No signal: the video output port transmits the test pattern if there
is no incoming signal on the selected input port.
Off: the test pattern function is disabled, the video output port
transmits the video signal of the selected input port.
