Creating and customizing applications
An application is defined by the following information:
• The required line characteristics
• The weighting or evaluation of the possible diagnoses
• The descriptions of the possible causes of problems
• The sets of parameters (measurement times, tolerance limits, etc.) for the individual
measurements
The following sections describe how you can create and customize a new application.
2.6.1
Creating a new application
1. Click on the "New" menu item in the "Application" menu in the "ANT-20 NEXT - [Application]"
window.
The "Define New Application" window opens.

2. Enter a description (up to 255 characters) for the new application in the text box in the
"Application" field.
3. Select the type of application: "Monitoring" or "Line (TX/RX)".
4. Select the expected characteristics under "Expected Signal Type".
5. Select the optional measurements that you want to perform ("Optional Measurements").
6. Click on the "OK" button.
