SET MODE

I SET mode programming

SET mode is used to change the condition of 13 transceiver
functions: beep tone function, weather alert function, scan
type
(normal/priority)
dual/tri-watch, monitor function, automatic backlighting, con-
trast, power save function, self check function, battery volt-
age and scrambling code.
When no optional voice scrambler unit is installed, scrambling
code cannot be set. (will not be displayed)

D Beep tone "bP"
You can select silent operation
by turning the beep tones OFF,
or you can have confirmation
beeps sound at the push of a
switch, by turning the beep
tones ON.
D Weather alert function "AL"
An NOAA broadcast station
transmits a weather alert tone
before any important weather an-
nouncements. When the weather
alert function is turned ON, the
transceiver detects the alert, the
bell indicator blinks and sounds a
beep tone until the transceiver is
