The two ports labelled RST are used
to pass hard reset lines between the
POE's. The reset lines originate from
the up-stand reset panel and are wired
to the 'Reset and Meter' connector on
the monitor panel via a D25 cable. This
cable's pin-out is shown in Figure 3. The
monitor panel's 'Reset' RJ45 connector
outputs the reset signals and is wired to
a POE RST port, the other RST port is
used to pass the signals on to the next
POE and so on, daisy-chaining the signal
through all the POE switches.
It does not matter which RST is used
for 'in' & 'out' or in what order the POE's
are connected. These are hard logic
lines rather than data, ensuring reset
commands can be passed throughout
the system irrespective of the functioning
state of each piece of hardware.

During surface reset, all POE's & Surface
Switches reboot and power is momentarily
dropped to all panels forcing them to
reboot. DSP and control resets are
passed on to the processing core via
the active Surface Switch.

D25 Reset Cable
All Calrec fitted Cat5e cables are wired
'straight-through' or 'pin to pin' Panel
cables and I/O to Router cables can be
either straight-through or cross-over,
however POE RST and SPR cables MUST
be wired straight-through.
