Shortcut Menus

The soft keys at the bottom of the display screen are context-sensitive, meaning that they change
depending on which screen you are at. These soft keys enable you to select specific phone functions and
features. The gray triangles in the upper right corner of the soft keys indicate that there is a shortcut
menu with additional options. When you press a soft key, a menu opens. The following example shows
the menu for the Features soft key.
When a soft key menu displays, there are two ways to choose a menu item. Use the ▲ and ▼
navigation keys to scroll through the shortcut menu and press the OK key. Or, press the number of the
option on the keypad. Grayed options are not available.
Using the number option to choose menu items is faster than scrolling with the navigation
keys and pressing the OK button.

Understanding the Status Bar Icons

The Status Bar icons give you information about the status of your phone. Up to eight icons can display
in the Status Bar and each icon has a fixed position. Each of the Status Bar icons and their definitions are
shown next in Table 1: Status Bar Icons.
