Section 3 - Configuration
The DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name System) feature allows you to host a server (e.g. a Web, FTP,
or game server) using a domain name that you have purchased (www.whateveryournameis.
com) with your dynamically assigned IP address. Most broadband Internet Service Providers
assign dynamic (changing) IP addresses. Using a DDNS service provider, your friends can
enter your domain name to connect to your server no matter what your IP address is.
Click Add or Edit to reveal Dynamic DNS configuration options.
The currently defined DDNS Rules are displayed here. If you wish to create a new DDNS
mapping, click the Add button. If you wish to remove an existing mapping, select it from
the table and click the Delete button. If you wish to edit a rule, select it from the table and
click the Edit button.
DDNS provider: Select the DDNS provider you wish to use.
Hostname: Enter the hostname you registered with the Dynamic DNS provider.
Interface: Select the appropriate interface.
Username: Enter the username for your Dynamic DNS account.
Password: Enter the password for your Dynamic DNS account.
Click Apply when you are done.
