This section describes the configurations to connect the Sysmac Studio to an IPC Machine Controller.

Configurations That Allow Online Connections

You can connect online from the Sysmac Studio to the built-in EtherNet/IP port of the NY-series Box
PC.
Connect with EtherNet/IP
1:1 Connection
Sysmac Studio

Built-in EtherNet/IP port
A direct connection is made from the computer that
runs Sysmac Studio. You do not need to specify the
IP address or connection device.
You can make the connection either with or without
an Ethernet switch.
You can use either a cross cable or a straight cable.
Connect to EtherNet/IP through USB
You can connect to the NY-series built-in EtherNet/IP port through a USB port of an NJ/NX-series Con-
troller.
Connect a computer and the NJ/NX-series CPU Unit with a USB 2.0 certified cable. Do not use a USB
hub to connect them.
