1 Introduction to the Industrial Box PC
• NY Monitor Link interface
The interface combines video signals and USB signals for a connection to an OMRON Industrial
Monitor using a single NY Monitor Link cable up to 100 meter.
• 3 Ethernet ports 1Gb/s
Three ports support EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and Ethernet (for Windows) for interfacing with multiple
network types.
• EtherCAT Control Network Support
The IPC Machine Controller provides an EtherCAT master port for EtherCAT communications.
EtherCAT is an advanced industrial network system that achieves faster, more-efficient communica-
tions. It is based on Ethernet. Each node achieves a short fixed communications cycle time by trans-
mitting Ethernet frames at high speed.
The standard-feature EtherCAT control network allows you to connect all of the devices required for
machine control (e.g., I/O systems, Servo Drives, Inverters, and machine vision) to the same net-
work.
• Support for EtherCAT Slave Terminals
You can use EtherCAT Slave Terminals to save space. You can also flexibly build systems with the
wide variety of NX Units.
• Achieving a Safety Subsystem on EtherCAT
You can use NX-series Safety Control Units to integrate safety controls in a sequence and motion
control system as a subsystem on EtherCAT.
• Built-in I/O
Built-in I/O for UPS status and Box PC shutdown control are provided.
• 4 USB ports
2 USB2.0 ports and 2 USB3.0 ports are provided for connection to external USB devices such as
keyboards, memory sticks, or other peripheral hardware.
• Built-in SD Memory Card slot
An SD Memory Card slot is provided for removable memory.

Machine Controller Software Features
The Machine Controller Software of the Box PC provides the following features:
• Data Exchange between Windows and Controller
The Windows and the Controller on the real-time OS can exchange data while each makes an inde-
pendent operation. Through the shared folder on the Windows, you can get data from and write data
into the Controller. Also, you can shut down or restart the Windows from the Controller.
