9. Positive Welding Output Terminal
The positive welding terminal is used to connect the welding output of the power source to the electrode
holder lead. Most General Purpose electrodes are connected with electrode to positive. Consult the electrode
manufacturer's information for the correct polarity.
Positive welding current flows from the power source via this Dinse type terminal. It is essential, however,
that the male Dinse type plug is inserted and turned securely to achieve a sound electrical connection. Do not
over tighten.
Loose welding terminal connections can cause overheating and result in the male plug being fused
in the Dinse terminal.
10. Shielding Gas Outlet
The Shielding Gas Outlet located on the front panel is a 5/8-18 UNF female gas fitting and is utilised for the
connection of a suitable TIG Torch.
11. On/Off Switch
This switch is used to turn the unit ON/OFF. When this switch is turned ON the Power Indicator on the front
panel will illuminate.
12. Fan
The Fan is turned ON/OFF by the Power Switch on the rear panel of the machine.
13. Shielding Gas Inlet
The Shielding Gas Inlet connection is a quick connect type and is used to supply the appropriate shielding gas
to the unit. Refer to section 5.02 for TIG (GTAW) set up details.
14. Hot Start Feature (Not Shown)
This feature operates in Stick (Manual Arc) mode. The Hot Start feature improves the arc start characteristics
by momentarily increasing the welding current to a level above the preset amperage (Welding Current). This
is a preset feature and is not adjustable.
15. Post Gas Flow (Not Shown)
This parameter operates in TIG modes only. Post Gas Flow is the time Gas flows after the arc has extinguished.
This is used to cool and reduce oxidisation of the Tungsten Electrode.
Post Gas Flow time is proportional to the Welding Current setting. For example if the Welding Current is set to
10 amps the Post Gas Flow time will be approximately 1 second. For a Welding Current set to 200 Amps the
Post Gas Flow time will be approximately 8 seconds. The Post Gas Flow time cannot be adjusted independently
of the Welding Current.
16. Anti Stick Feature (Not Shown)
This feature operates in Stick (Manual Arc) mode.
The anti stick feature senses when the electrode sticks and automatically reduces the current to prevent the
Stick Electrode from sticking to the work piece. This is a preset feature and is not adjustable.
