The iGyro now waits again until you
switch back to FM2 or FM3, and the gain
adjuster is returned to 0%. The next step -
rudder gain in Heading mode can be ad-
justed once those requirements are met.
The iGyro Testfly Assistant adopts the same gain values for Normal and Heading mode for aileron
and elevator. Of course, it is still possible to alter any or all of the settings subsequently in order to
fine-tune the gyro's effect. For example, you might wish to enter different settings for Normal or
Heading modes, or activate the Booster for particular axes. You will find a detailed description of
these facilities under Point 7.
Note: we recommend that 3D pilots should program at least one flight mode without Heading
values: when a model is flying a 3D manoeuvre, its lack of airspeed makes it incapable of mo-
ving in all directions, and the gyro's attempts to maintain position may cause control surfaces
to move to their end-points. If the model then picks up speed again, the deflections could
cause the model to carry out unexpected movements.

The procedure for setting rudder gain
in Heading mode is identical to the prece-
ding method. However, if you are not sa-
tisfied with the setting after the first pass,
initiate a turn using very gentle rudder in
addition to aileron, as this suppresses Hea-
ding mode for rudder. The set-up procedu-
re can then be continued. Switch to FM1
when you are satisfied with the setting.
The set-up procedure for the iGyro is now com-
plete: the Assistant has set up flight modes FM2
and FM3, and FM2 is set as the standard flight
phase. Heading mode for the rudder is disabled.
Flight mode FM3 can be switched on for specific
aerobatic manoeuvres such as knife-edge flying
and slow rolls.
