Starting TopAccess (for Administrator)

You can check the state of this machine with only one WWW browser in selection of Netscape
Navigator or Internet Explorer. When you designate the URL for administrator, the
Administrator menu is added. Then, you can set up this machine and the network. Before
changing a setting(s), you must enter the administrator password.
Note:
When you perform the operation with the control panel and TopAccess at the same time,
the settings made with the control panel may not be displayed on TopAccess screen
immediately.
TopAccess can be used in the following environment:
• Applicable OS : Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Windows XP,
• WWW browser : Netscape Navigator 4.0 or later, or Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. The

* This configuration requires an optional network interface card.
Note:
The IP address of this machine must be assigned with the control panel in advance. For
the assigning procedures, refer to the section on Assigning IP Address.
Password for TopAccess
To change some settings at TopAccess for Administrator, the password must be entered to
submit the change. The password can be changed as desired.

CAUTION:
Do not forget the password. Otherwise, you can no longer change the settings at
TopAccess.

Start the WWW browser.
Enter URL (for Administrator) in the

Address entry field of the WWW
browser, and press the Enter key.
• Enter "http://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn/adm".
"nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn" is the IP Address of the
printer.

The TopAccess screen appears.

Environmental requirements
Mac OS 8.0, 8.5, 8.6, 9.0
WWW browser needs to be prepared separately.
: TCP/IP
Make sure that your computer can be connected to the network via TCP/IP.
