6-1 WebTools and TopAccess

Chapter 6:
Overview of
TopAccess and
WebTools
This chapter introduces TopAccess and Fiery WebTools. TopAccess provides access
to jobs that have been sent to the copier hard disk drive, and WebTools provide access
to jobs that have been sent to the GA-1040.
This chapter describes how to launch TopAccess and access Print Job, Counter, and
Options (WebTools) screens. For information on additional TopAccess features, see the
Printing Guide, the Configuration Guide and your copier documentation. For more
information on specific WebTools, see the information provided in the table that
appears under "Accessing WebTools" on page 6-7.
WebTools and TopAccess
TopAccess utilities and WebTools can be accessed through the TopAccess home page.
This interface allows remote users to view controller and copier functions and
manipulate jobs.
TopAccess can be used on Windows 95/98/NT 4.0/Me, 2000 client computers with
certain Internet browsers that support the Java language. For specific information on
the browsers supported with TopAccess, see Getting Started.

Access privileges

Both WebTools and TopAccess allow the site administrator to choose and implement a
level of access and control appropriate for your particular site.
For TopAccess, no password is required to access Copier Configuration options, Print
Job views, Printer Information, or Counter Settings, however, an Administrator
password is required to access GA-1040 Setup settings. For more information on how
to access and use the Administrator features of TopAccess, see the Configuration Guide.
