Configuration Server Redundancy via DNS A Records
The BluStar 8000i sends a DNS query and in the DNS response, it accepts the first server IP address and contacts that
server, ignoring any additional IP addresses in the response. This allows service providers to manage load balancing (via
the DNS server putting different records first on each request), but does not provide redundancy.

Description
The HTTPS server's IP address. This will become effective after this configuration file has been downloaded into
the BluStar 8000i.
For example: https server: 192.168.0.143
Optional: You can also assign an HTTPS relative path to the HTTPS server. See the next parameter (https path).
Specifies the path name for which the configuration files reside on the HTTPS server for downloading to the IP
BluStar 8000i.
For example: http path: blustar/1
If the BluStar 8000i's configuration and firmware files are located in a sub-directory beneath the server's HTTPS
root directory, the relative path to that sub-directory should be entered in this field.
Specifies the HTTPS port that the server uses to load the configuration to the BluStar 8000i over HTTPS. The
default port is 80.
For example: https port: 1025
Enables and disables the BluStar 8000i to be updated automatically once a day at a specific time in a 24-hour
period. This parameter works with TFTP, FTP, and HTTP servers.
Notes:
• Any changes made using the BluStar 8000i are not overwritten by an auto-resync update. Auto-resync affects
the configuration files only.
• The resync time is based on the local time of the BluStar 8000i.
• If the BluStar 8000i is in use (not idle) at the time of the resync check, the reboot occurs when the BluStar 8000i
becomes idle.
• The automatic update feature works with both encrypted and plain text configuration files.
For more information, see
Using the Auto-Resync Feature
BluStar 8000i to be automatically updated. This parameter works with TFTP, FTP, and HTTP servers.
Notes:
• The resync time is based on the local time of the BluStar 8000i.
• The value of 00:00 is 12:00 A.M.
• When entering a value for this parameter using the configuration files, the value can be entered using minute
values from 00 to 59 (for example, the auto resync time can be entered as 02:56).
For more information, see
Using the Auto-Resync Feature
