4.5 Surface Mounting w/Back Box
This installation method is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Use supplied rubber gasket in all outdoor surface installations to provide the seal
between the mounting surface and the camera base.
Important. Please Read:
It is the installer's responsibility to ensure that the mounting surface is
suitable for the chosen installation method.
Based on installation location and surface type, supplied screws and
anchors may not be adequate.
Mounting hardware is site-specific and may need to be supplied by the
installer.
Use sealant in all outdoor installations to maintain the camera's IP67 rating.
Prepare the Mounting Surface:
1.
Attach the supplied Guide Pattern Sticker to the mounting
surface.
2.
Drill a minimum of two 4.5 mm (0.2") holes at the marked
template positions on the mounting surface.
3.
If suitable for your installation environment, insert
supplied screw anchors into the holes on the mounting
surface.
4.
Based on installation requirements, you may route the cable through the camera's
side conduit opening on the back box. In that case, no additional openings are
required in the mounting surface. Alternatively, drill a 3/4" circular opening in
the mounting surface, corresponding to the bottom conduit hole of drill template.
Recommendation: In wall installations, side conduit should point down to create
a drip-loop.
Disassemble the Camera:
5.
Disassemble the camera by removing the dome bubble. Use the provided security
Torx bit to loosen three silver screws securing the dome bubble to the camera's
mounting base. Do not completely remove the screws from the bubble. Lift the
dome bubble off and set aside.
6.
Loosen three silver screws attaching camera to the back box. Remove camera's
back box.
Install the Back Box:
7.
Complete drilling at least two (2) pre-drilled hole dimples on the surface of the
back box. These holes must match the holes that were drilled in the mounting
surface in Step 2.
