The system in Figure 4-1(B) is somewhat more complex
since additional instruments are used. Depending on pro-
gramming, all data may be routed through the controller
or sent
directly from one instrument to another.
4.3.2 Cable
Connections
The Model 595 is to be connected to the IEEE&88 bus
through a cable equipped with standard IEEE-488 cotiec-
tars (shown in Figure 4-2). The connector is designed to
be stacked to allow a number of parallel connections. Two
screws are located on each connector to ensure that con-
nections remain secure. Current standards call for metric
threads, as identified by dark colored screws. Earlier wr-
sions had different suews, which are silver colored. Do not
attempt to use these types of connectors with the Model
595 which is designed for metric threads.
A typical connecting scheme for the bus is shown in Figure
4-3.
