Troubleshooting

8.2 Problems with the service/console processor (SKP)

If you have problems with the SKP, contact the service department and discuss the steps
to be taken.
Depending the outcome of this discussion, you may be required to do the following:
1. Reboot the SINIX system.
Make sure that applications under SINIX, e.g. sysadm, have been terminated.
Select or open a SINIX screen
Login: root,
enter the password,
shutdown -i6
or select "Exit system" from the main menu of the window administration program, enter
the password, select "Restart" and "Start" (see also page 24).
If this is not possible:
Switch off SKP with the OFF switch and then switch it on again.
!
2. After termination of the SINIX loading process, select the screen CONS0 #1 <computer
name> again and log in with the password.
3. If the BS2000/VM2000 is still in operation, the BS2000 console screen CONS0 is
automatically reconnected to the BS2000/VM2000.
You can now continue to use BS2000 as described on page 95.

A /shutdown command is sent to BS2000 and it may be terminated (see also
page 24f and the section entitled "up_down" in the "SINIX-2000 V7.5/V8.0" [1]
manual).
Please read the note on page 30.
