Extend the jib boom until the jib boom
extension cylinder rod-end pivot pin is
accessible.

Tag, disconnect and plug the two hydraulic
hoses from the jib boom manifold that lead to
the platform manifold. Cap the fittings on the
manifold.
Bodily injury hazard. Spraying
hydraulic oil can penetrate and
burn skin. Loosen hydraulic
connections very slowly to allow
the oil pressure to dissipate
gradually. Do not allow oil to
squirt or spray.

Tag, disconnect and plug the jib boom lift
cylinder and jib boom extension cylinder
hydraulic hoses from the jib boom manifold.
Cap the fittings on the manifold.

Remove the cover from the lower jib boom
cable track.

Tag and disconnect the electrical connectors
inside the lower cable track.

Remove the hose and cable clamp retaining
fasteners from lower cable track at the pivot
end of the jib boom. Remove the clamps.

Jib Boom Components
10 Pull the electrical cables out of the lower cable
track that lead to the primary boom.
11 Attach a lifting strap from a second overhead
crane to the pivot end of the jib boom for
support. Do not apply any lifting pressure.
12 Place a block under the jib boom level cylinder
for support. Protect the cylinder rod from
damage.
13 Remove the pin retaining fastener from the jib
boom pivot pin. Do not remove the pin.
14 Use a soft metal drift to tap the pin halfway out
in one direction and lower one side of the jib
boom bellcrank. Tap the pin in the other
direction and lower the other side of the jib
boom bellcrank.
15 Use a soft metal drift to remove the jib boom
pivot pin. Remove the jib boom from the
machine and place it on a structure capable of
supporting it.
16 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from the jib
boom extension cylinder rod-end pivot pin.
Use a soft metal drift to remove the pin.
