ing rod No. D 85506, along the upper shaft until the hole in the
lower end of connecting rod " 1 ", hanging down on the connecting
rod No. D 85506, slips onto the lower stud in the stitch regulator
lever " 4 " (No. D 85513).
Push the feed eccentric No. 20026 further until the connecting
rod " 1 " rests against both the connecting rod No. D 85506
and the lever " 4 ". The connecting rod " 1 " must be posi
tioned so that it is not bent and does not leave any play side
ways.
Tighten the two screws No. 048080 GEB in the feed eccentric
No. 20026 to fasten it to the upper shaft.
/) Connect the lower end of the feed eccentric connecting rod
No. D 85506 with its component parts below the bed plate of the
machine.
Note: After the assembly of the feed eccentric connecting rod No.
D 85506, it is necessary to check the timing of the feed dog, as
explained in Chapter, " Timing of Feed Dog and Needle Bar ".
Assemble the feed lifting connecting rod No. A 26345 in the
machine.
Connect the spring " 3 " (see Fig. 75) with the lever " 4 ".

Take out the cams, turn stitch length regulating knob at zero
(turn knob counter-clockwise until it stops), then check the
following points:
The zero " O " mark of the graduations on the stitch length regu-
lating knob must coincide with the square mark on the arm above
the knob.
