Preparation of assembling the group as shown in Fig. 94.
Place the two brake shoes No. A26/3/4 inside of the lower
pulling drums No. C(A26/3/l), shown in Fig. 93.
Next, place the brake spring No. A26/3/5 (see Fig. 93) between
the two brake-shoes (using a thin-nosed pair of pliers to bend
the spring ends together).
Place the pull-spring (transport spring) No. A26/1/11 on the
outside of the lower pulling drum No. C(A26/3/l).
This spring cannot be placed onto the pulling drum all at once.
Slip on spiral after spiral. Make sure that the spirals are close to
each other, without overlapping, and that they all stay close to
the cylinder of the pulling drum.
By means of a thin-nosed pair of pliers, push the two brake-
shoes No. A26/3/4 toward each other and then move both
brake-shoes at one time until the distance between the pro

to about 11/16". The Hole " A " is the one of the two holes on
the brake-shoes which is at a greater distance from the end of
Spring No. A26/1/11.
This adjustment is necessary in order to ensure that Hole " A " is
visible through the W indow " B " (Fig. 97) on Drum No.
