ADJUSTMENT OF THE CONTACT FINGERS NO. A 26/1/23
AND NO. A 26/1/13 WHICH REGULATE THE POSITION
OF THE NEEDLE AND THAT OF THE ZIG-ZAG
WIDTH REGULATING LEVER

This adjustment is required in order to obtain a perfect execution
of the automatic designs. The adjustment has to eliminate the
play between cam and needle positioning lever, and between
cam and zigzag width lever.
General rules: Place the gauge No. 10-2 on the cam axle and
move the cam disconnecting lever No. D (A 26/3/25) entirely to
the left; move the zig-zag width lever to zero and check whether
the contact fingers are in the position as shown in Figs. 83 and 84.
To adjust proceed as follows (the machine should be completely
assembled, and be at a standstill):
Place the gauge No. 10-2 on the cam axle, move needle
positioning lever completely to the left, and bring the zig-zag
width lever to zero (completely to the left). Now, move the cam
disconnecting
Put the end "B" of the finger A
261 23 in contact with the gauge
No. 10-2 and put the rear end "C"
of the finger in contact with the
pin "D". The left branch of fork
"E" must then be in slight
contact with the pin "F".
