Take off top cover and open face plate of the machine.
Pass Allen wrench (socket wrench) No. 20-5 (1/8") through the
hole in the mounting plate for the automatic device (Fig. 82), and
loosen slightly the screw No. 85279 on the eccentric No. A 85241.
With one hand push the counterweight d ihe upper shaft toward
the interior of the machine. With the other hand and the Allen
wrench No. 20-5, push the eccentric No. A 85241 toward the shaft
bearing adjacent to the eccentric.
Firmly tighten screw No. 85279 and check if the axial play of the
upper shaft is completely eliminated. There should be no play
at all of the axial shaft and also no hard point when the balance
wheel is being rotated by hand.
The adjustment mentioned above, can also be made when
the mounting plate for the automatic device is removed.
The timing of the eccentric A 85241 must be checked every time
the axial play of the upper shaft has been readjusted.
